Multiple course options are available for anyone that wants to get on the road as a commercial truck driver. The course options available include:

Full Course with Certification

The Full Course offers robust training, with 30 hours of behind-the-wheel training broken down into multiple sessions. When you take this course, you will train at one of the company’s Utah CDL schools and receive the following:

  • All classroom supplies
  • CDL Test
  • FMCSA test
  • 7, 4-hour driving sessions

Upon completion of the course, you’ll receive your certificate.

Note: Drivers from Washington are required to have 40 hours of experience behind the wheel. The school will charge an additional $250 for these hours to meet your CDL requirements.

Fast Track CDL Training Course

Fast Track is an option for anyone that has a CDL Class A learner’s permit and doesn’t have time to attend a full course. You can complete the course, and all of the testing, in just seven days. Testing is done at Apex’s Salt Lake City, Utah location.

The course is the ideal option for:

  • Drivers that haven’t been behind the wheel in weeks
  • Anyone that has a job lined up and wants to brush up or learn to drive well
  • Drivers that don’t require full certification

As an intense course, your week will consist of 20 hours of 1-on-1 driving, classroom instruction, supplies and the CDL test.

Test Only with No Training

Are you someone that needs no training at all? If so, this is the option for you. The no training option allows you to get certified, but even drivers that have been in the industry for 30 years have failed the test when retaking it.

We recommend choosing the hourly training for a quick refresher course, which increases your chances of passing to 95%.

Safety Course

Safety is a top priority for trucking fleets because it helps them maintain a good reputation while also being able to reduce cost. The Safety Course is designed to help drivers become safer on the road so that they know what actions to take in emergency situations.

Instructors will teach drivers the skills they need to perform difficult maneuvers and also focus on backing up maneuvers.

Upon graduating from the course, drivers will receive a safety certificate.

Re-fresh

The Re-fresh course is a great course for anyone that wants to get back behind the wheel of a big rig. Whether you’ve had a CDL in the past or you want to start driving again after a short time off, the Re-fresh is a great option.

Re-fresh offers 12 hours of instruction, behind the wheel, with some portion of the driving taking place up and down Parleys Canyon upon request.

Training will satisfy most employer requirements and will also include a certificate at the end of the course.

Hourly

Sometimes, all that a person needs is an hourly class or two to be able to pass their CDL exam. The training can mean the difference between passing and failing, or it can be used to hone in on your driving skills.

Apex Trucking is a leader in CDL driving schools and courses. You’ll find a variety of courses, offered to in-state and out-of-state students, that will satisfy your state’s CDL requirements. Whether you need to take a re-fresh course, want to jump into a fast track course or go through the full course, you can be confident that all courses will meet your state’s requirements.
